Abbie Irish Mendoza also know as Abbie isa sa mga maganda at mabait na member ng Urban Sketchers kung saan member din ako nito at founder naman siya ng Sketch Party PH. Una ko siyang nakilala sa isang charity event ng Blog Mo, Ipasuot mo kung saan siya na naging storyteller para sa mga bata, i must admit napahanga niya ako ng husto sa kanyang ginagawa marahil siguro dahil isa siyang maestra kaya naman kayang-kaya niya ang kanyang gawain,

Genre of your graphic illustration: I don't follow a certain genre but I am leaning towards children's illustration. Most of the time, I just draw what I feel like drawing though.
Tell me something about yourself that people don't know: I am a licensed teacher, I teach Grade 3 and I love what I am doing because it's my passion.
What is your current state of mind before we continue with the interview? Confused (with life).
When and how did you get your start in the industry? Year 2010, I think. That was the year my friends in school motivated me to make a career out of it.
Did you go to school to study this genre? Nope. The 'rents think it's not practical and money does not grow on trees. Don't get me wrong through, I took up Early Childhood Education because I share the same passion as my mother in teaching and besides, I get to draw cute illustrations and storytell for kids.
How did you discover your passion for art? Was it always something you knew you wanted to do? I think I discovered my passion for art around the year 2010, also. Art has always been something I did just because. I just never knew that sharing art with other people (through the internet or in real life) would be so great! That motivated me to make more art because I was able to meet people who share the same passion as I do.
How did you find your style? Has it changed since you started? I still think I have not style up to now. My style varies on what subject I am doing. To be honest, I am struggling with my identity as an artist.
What was your first ever illustration of, do you still have it, if not where is it? I still have it. (see picture #1)

Where do you get your ideas/inspiration from? From people, places and feelings.
How did illustration/graphic design change your life? Well, instead of bottling all of my emotions to myself, I get to transfer it to ink and paper.
What are the pros and cons of being a graphic illustrator? A pro could be the idea that fun and passion meets work. A con could be the time constraint.
If you weren't a graphic artist/illustrator or a multimedia artist, what would you want to be? Why? I'd still choose to be a teacher.
What legacy will you leave? I still have no idea.
How do you see yourself 20 or 30 yrs from now? I see myself as a early retiree from the field of education who owns her own studio or maybe a simple coffee shop with lots of books and art.
