BLOG and SOUL: Earning from your Blog, the Realities

Last April 30, 2010 I attended an event called “Blog and Soul: Earning from Blog and the Realities” which was held at the Asian Institute of Management in Makati.

I went there together with the U-bloggers namely Anton, Bino, John, Rico and Yanah.

Fortunately we managed to get a good seat and take some good shots at the speakers and the panels.

But of course I was so busy taking notes of the important information from the speaker and to the live question and answer portion.

Honestly, what really enticed me to participate on the event was the topic about earning a living from blogging and also, I want more knowledge about the blogging world.

 All bloggers were very attentive at the discussion, some of them was busy taking some video.

Things I learned on this event:

•    Different between Sponsor Review & Preview Review.
•    Facebook help to get a linkback on your blog.
•    Putting up a blog on your own expertise can generate income.
•    You can earn either through Blogger or Wordpress.
•    Know your audience (find an audience).
•    Take good care of your quality like pictures, graphics, theme, etc
•    You’re the one to sell yourself to the sponsor or to the advertiser
•    Have a good credibility.
•    In terms of fashion, Blog about fashion with a commercial fashion.
•    It's easier to learn if you put up several blogs with specific niches than just one but with a different platform or duplicate it.
•    In terms of Xdeal with sponsor advertiser make sure you submit it earlier on the deadline.
•    Know how to limit yourself.
•    Some companies are still not conscious of the bloggers and the potential marketing advantage they could provide.
•    Contest is good for launching a new products.
•    Aside from Google adsense, infolinks and chitikia are good alternatives.
•    Respect some rules taking pictures in the restaurant especially on the bakeshop  (or ask permission taking up pictures).
•    Best genre for the blogs are Technology, Money, Health and Sports (Sports good for adsense traffic)

•    What are the top 5 misconceptions in blogging?
•    What are the top 5 good practice in blogging?
•    What are the bad habits about blogging?
•    How to measure of the success of the blog?
•    How sponsor ads works?
•    What are the profitable ads? In terms ad advertising?
•    What are the other ways to gain traffic?
•    What is the projection in advertising for bloggers?

This experience really help me a lot in terms of blog etiquette and sabi  nga nila blog what you like to blog but make sure wala kang pinatapakan na tao at maging responsible sa bawat sulat mo, dahil sa bawat sulat mo madaming naiinspire, natutuwa,magagalit at naaliw.

And syempre I wanna thanks Blog and Soul Movement for this wonderful and education event I hope this is not the last.
