Genre of your graphic illustration:
I do digital paintings, most of them in realistic oil-like traditional painting.

Tell me something about yourself that people don't know:
Well, I don't eat much of pork, I'm an irregular student, I hate math on my 10th birthday, I got tickets for a Europe tour with my
family.

What is your current state of mind before we continue with the interview?
I actually just woke up right now, I'm absolutely sane, and I'm currently remembering my dream which I think consists of superheroes fighting under the rain.

When and how did you get your start in the industry?
I pretty much started when i got my Bamboo Pen (a pen tablet which saves my life every time) that was back in 2010, my birthday.

Did you go to school to study this genre?
I'm in the field that studies a lot of medium in creating art and this 'illustrating' (painting) is one of those medium.

How did you discover your passion for art? Was it always something you knew you wanted to do?
I grew up having that 'burning desire' for the arts. My artistry during my childhood focused in drawing buildings, cars, everything geometric so during my toddler years I wanted to be an architect, but growing up, I found painting and freehand drawing amusing than using rulers. (+ I hated math).

How do you define graphic design?
Graphic design is a branch of design. Graphic design, is generally a creative process involving prints. Design itself, in the most broader sense, is a plan, a mechanism that stands for something and something that strictly (in graphics) sends message that should be crucially seen and interpreted easily.

Here the some sample graphic design of Vincent Kristan G. Quilop

How did you find your style? Has it changed since you started?
Of course it has. If you've been drawing for 3 years now, and nothing has changed since, you should check yourself. I first developed this likeness for smooth drawing, clean well-blended colors in digital painting. But now, I use this digital medium to make my artworks look like it's been painted with the use of traditional oil media. I'm still developing this 'style', though, trying to experiment and separate myself from different artists around the world (which is a pain-in-the-ass challenge, really).

What was your first ever illustration of, do you still have it, if not where is it?
I think I do! It's this one: https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/148330_174096715953706_1026762_n.jpg // circa 2010, my first ever finished digital painting that took 9 hours to finish. Anatomically-incorrect, pale skin (which means terrible use of colour palette) I like the hands, though, but the hair is just que horror.

Where do you get your ideas/inspiration from?
SAM SPRATT! My professors, Meneer Marcelo, Carlos Ahorro, Rai Cruz (I call them the Big-3) a whole lot more!

How did illustration/grapic design change your life?
I think, it has. In the smallest way, it has. I now earn (at least something that will satisfy my tummy) a month for having people commission me, my current perspective on things is in a much more broader thinking. The very 'impact' ,of being an illustrator, in my life is that I (in my smallest, creative way) can share what 'I AM' in the world; a very narcissistic opinion, but it is what it is--art (as an artist) and every other profession in this world. We are all narcissist. We can't deny that.

What are the pros and cons of being a grapic illustrator?
This will take the whole day of typing, so I'll fast forward to the bottom-line of the pros and cons of it: the pro, is that you can voice out what your hiding inside your 'creative mind'. The con of it is HOW will you process and convert that idea in your mind into something that is tangible and people will see. In the simplest word, how will you put into paper what your mind says? It's a basic problem of artists.

If you weren't a grapic artist/illustrator or a multimedia artist, what would you want to be? Why?
I'd be a chef! Or an architect! I like cooking, I drew buildings and mechs during my childhood and stuff.

What legacy will you leave?
This is a very futuristic question. I don't think I can answer this just yet.

How do you see yourself  20 or 30 yrs from now?
I have this belief that I won't live for more than 25 years; that when I reach that age, I will (in some ways) die. I don't really understand why, but I had this belief waaaayyy back during elementary. But for the sake of answering this question, I will be working in Manhattan, with my own Wacom Cintiq (or whatever latest art-creating-medium there is 20/30 yrs. from now.) I'd probably be still painting, but this time, I paint for huge clients. Then I'd retire somewhere in Europe together with my Golden-Age Renaissance masters.

Your #1 art tip or words of wisdom.
Stop caring what people think and just do your stuff. Art or not, just draw what you want to draw. Whatever it is that you’re doing, do it because you want it and do it because you love it. Remember that the best tool you will ever have is yourself.

Any final message? Its your time to shine..
