Muling nagbabalik ang isa sa mga most interesting feature section ng AXLPPI ang Youturn kung saan ipinapakilala ang ilan sa mga masasabi kung magagaling mula sa mundo ng illustration.
Tara samahan mo akung kilalanin ang unang feature illustrator para sa taong 2015 na walang ba kundi si Henrick Dulin.
Sa di inaasahang pagkakataon ay nagkaroon ako ng isang munting pagkakataon para mainterview ang isa sa mga mahuhusay na illustrator sa mundo ng tumblr, oo mahusay sapagkat napapahanga niya ako sa kanyang aking galing. Di ko naman masasabi na kilalang-kilala ko siya sapagkat bihira lamang kami magkausap ni Henrick, marahil dala na siguro ng kabusihan sa iba't-ibang mga bagay.

I am Hench and I am one crazy goofball.
What is your current state of mind before we continue with the interview?
Calm, thanks to my chill OPM mix~
When and how did you get your start in the industry?
The thing started in my high school years; I remember myself memorizing some font types like Action Jackson, Ransom, Bebas Neue, etc. (I still memorize my font types hahaha!) I started making typos on PhotoScape with the quotes group messaged by my friends and them posting them on Facebook after (Facebook was like my blog before).
Did you go to school to study this genre?
Nah.

How did you discover your passion for art? Was it always something you knew you wanted to do?
Got my artsy-fartsy genes from my Papa. Yep, it's like this thing is made for me and I think this will be the key to rule the world. WORLD DOMINATION!!! loljk
How do you define graphic design?
Computerized traditional art. Heehee

How did you find your style? Has it changed since you started?
From scrolling the dropdown for possible fonts that would fit the text, to font pairing, font type, color palettes and textures -- yep, it has changed!
What was your first ever illustration of, do you still have it, if not where is it?
It was a Christmas greeting in different languages and in different kooky font styles, with black as my background and red and yellow for the font colors #Jejemon . I think I deleted that one now because it was too j3j3 ahahaha sorry don't judge me

Where do you get your ideas/inspiration from?
From every vintage posters I see and from my friends who are also doing typos on Tumblr and on Instagram!
How did illustration/graphic design change your life?
I am doing it as a sideline for me whenever someone would request me to make one for a poster or a tarpaulin, along with doing sketches, drawings, and on photography. Yay!
What are the pros and cons of being a graphic illustrator?
Pros: You can just customize almost EVERY THING that you have/you want to have. Make>Print>Ta-da!
Cons: You'll get loads of work, tho. One sitting is sometimes not enough (especially if you are the only one who only knows how Photoshop works huhu)

If you weren't a graphic artist/illustrator or a multimedia artist, what would you want to be? Why?
A photographer! That's my next good skill. :)
What legacy will you leave?
I really have this plan of painting some empty walls with some typos on it. Maybe those will do, if given the time (and sponsorship, of course!)
How do you see yourself 20 or 30 yrs from now?
One successful goofball who made business out of his typos!

ALWAYS have a pen and pencil beside you. A good idea sometimes pops out from nowhere. ;)
