What is One-Stroke Calligraphy? Who is Venerable Master Hsing Yun? What is the impact of the callgraphy in the routine of Venerable Master Hsing Yun?

Chinese Calligraphy, most of the time, is regarded as an art of expression, an art form that present the character of the artist. t requires strict discipline and control of various elements such as concentration of the link and qualities of both paper and brush to create diverse styles and forms. The Harmonization of both body and mind is essential in conveying the content of the passage. Beyond the technique and styles and forms produced in calligraphy, the intention of the artist is felt, the inner self of the artist revealed. This has bought the status  of calligraphy to the forefont, recognized as a core discipline in Chinese art that presents and paves the way for development of culture and the same time.

Venerable Master Hsing Yun is the founder of Fo Guang Shan (Buddha's Light Mountain) or FGS, one of the largest Buddhist order with close 300 branch temple worldwide. He also the leading proponent of Humanistic Buddhism, a practical and timely brand of Buddhism that emphasizes the integration of spiritual practices into everyday affairs and works for the promotion of peace and harmony among all human beings.

Despite of his physical condition he continues to express his loving-kindness through his artworks.

Venerable Master Hsing Yun may not show the perfection found in the creations of other great calligraphy masters, but they nonetheless posses great aesthetic and cultural value that stems from the wisdom and compassion of a man who has devoted his entire life in the propagation of the Dharma - the great body of Buddhist teaching - and in spreading the spirit of compassion to as many people as possible.
