Hot Spot: PHL360

Atlast after so many argument and some lil conversation about the team of Phl360, i got i chance to interview the people behind the Phl360. Here my exclusive and explosive interview to the Phl360.

Tell me about Phl360.. who are the brain behind it?

PHL360° is a brainchild of a group of travel bloggers and multimedia artists who are also advocates of independent and responsible traveling.

Whats' the concept or what's the inspiration?

PHL360° is a fusion of reality TV and travel show circling around the stories of eight indie travelers embarking on a trip around the Philippines. This is an entertaining and informative project for gung-ho and bold travelers who share the same passion and advocacies as independent travelers. Eight different kinds of travelers doing four extraordinary trips in four different destinations in the country (north, south, east and west). Eight folks will be grouped into four. Say, a surfer is partnered with mountaineer or party-traveler meets camper. Each duo travels to a place both not suited to their personalities with a mission of “how they will make the trip extra meaningful.” We will see what happens after the weekender trip and some surprise twists along the way.
The traveller

How did PHL360 began?

We originally thought of whipping-up a short film, then we had an epiphany: "Why not do something new, something that nobody did before?" So we went on a frenzy, calling and messaging all the connections that we thought would be interested and before we even got the chance for a breather, we got the full cast and crew all excited about it.

How did you choose the 8 indie travelers?

Since this is our first shot on making a travel oriented reality show, we believe that the best people to do it are those who have been there and know how to play this game--the seasoned travelers.

Can you give us idea who are the contestants? are they like students, blue collar workers, parents, or professionals, bloggers, photographers, wedding coordinator, etc.

Ok, we will be revealing the cast in the next couple of weeks. But we can give you a quick rundown exclusively for your readers: An engineer, an investigator, an executive manager, a digital artist, a pole dancer, a hotel critique, an ofw and a former TV journalist.

Are they well travelled too here in the Philippines or abroad?

Yes, they are travel and lifestyle bloggers. So they travel both inside and out of the country for at least once a month all year round.

What provinces you guys are excited to explore?

We are pretty much excited to cover all 80 provinces of the country, but due to time (and budget) constraints we can only do few. Maybe in the next couple of seasons we will cover more. Who knows?!

yes she's stylish and sweet but she
transforms into one spunky junketer when on the road. who is this indie traveler?
Can we expect new exotic places that no one had yet explored?

It's a reality show and that we couldn't tell for now, the destinations that the travelers will cover will depend on their level and degree of guts, creativity and energy.

What inspired you guys to make this kind of show/series?

The 8 indie travelers are hard core backpackers, and the crew is equally well travelled too. After years of traveling, we noticed one thing: The Philippines is still underrated in terms of indie traveling, we see hordes of tourists in the country but most of those are organized tours. As advocates of independent travel, we believe that the country has a lot to offer other than the beaten tracks like Boracay, Manila and Baguio, which are repeatedly marketed in travel brochures. There are countless unexplored places in the country that will top the ranks of international destinations and that is what we are hoping to show to encourage both local and foreign travelers to see this magnificent archipelago.

How excited are you for this project?

YOU HAVE NO IDEA! Since December, we have been thinking of this project from the time we wake up until the wee hours in the next morning. And we dream about it too, repeatedly.
Phl360 Traveller

Aside from the beautiful places here in the philippines, will you also highlights or incorporate our exotic foods, our tradition, history, the locals that living in that particular places you would explore to?

This travel show will focus on the human side of travel, the location will be the backdrop but ultimately we want to show that travel is not just an activity, it's a lifestyle. There are different reasons and inspirations why people travel. More than the pictures we post on Facebook, there is always a profound story of one's journey.  The food, history, politics and the people we meet on the road are crucial elements of travel. So it's not just the destination but the experience, the whole 360° of it.

Especial thanks to the people of Phl360 Franz Lopez, Justin Joyas,Agnes Navales, Ron Cruz Lilt Reyes, Lisa Marie Mirasol, Upper Viceo,Dane Policarpio and Nina Fuentes. Once again thank you so much to the time and effort that you gave to me..
