Tell me about yourself that people don't know:
- I feed stray cats in the street.

What is your current state of mind before we continue with the interview?
-I have enough sleep today so I am in the right state of mind. ^_^
How did you get started in photography?
-As weird as it may seem but few years back (I think its 5 yrs ago) when I visited my hometown, I used to play a rubix cube and whenever I'm done figuring it out, I would put it in the table in my roomand I'm always amazed how the light passes through my window that hits it, I love how the shadow forms and the drama it creates. Gamit ko pa nun lumang digicam. ^_^

Did you go to school to study photography?
-Yes, I took a Basic Photography short course at FPPF (Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation) last yearMarch 2014.

What camera did you use?
-During the short course, I bought an affordable 2nd hand unit (Nikon D3000) para lang may magamit but it helped me a lot kasi full manual. Just recently I upgraded to d3200, almost the same except it has a higher mp + video and autofocus.

How would you characterize the style of your photography?
-When it comes to style, I would say I'm still developing but I put my heart in every shots I take and in every photos I make.Sorry I'm not able to give an exact answer on this , I still consider myself as a newbie yet. ^_^

Can you share with us some recent images? And what's the story behind it?
- I attached some of my handiwork's and the story behind it is simply a Photographer who enjoys the company of his collegues and models.

Who or what influenced you to become a photographer? How did you become a photographer? And When did your career start as a professional photographer?
- When I was a kid, we have very few family and childhood pictures because we don't have our own camera so I said back then, I will make good memories in photographs as much as I can.I think it really has grown on me that is why events of my life lead me here. ^_^

To be honest, I don't earn money  yet in this field. Though my job is related, I will start my very first professional project this May 2015 which is a maternity shoot with the old friend of mine. Kung paano ako naging Photographer, long story as a novel, I don't want to bore you up so I won't go much into details hehe. It is just a matter of time before chances came along.

When I bought my first camera, that was the time my first department in the company (Research Dep't) was dissolved and me and some of my teammates were transferred to the Graphics Department. It takes a lot of patience in my case because of a zero knowledge and skill me as a Graphic Artist but it blended up so well along the way and instead of a job, I'm considering this as a school where I am building my foundation. Meeting the right people at the right time is one of the greatest factor. Malaking influence ung mga naging classmate ko sa FPPF last year especially Doc Czar Lingadat nung nameet ko sina Sir Kaiser Pureza at Chester Veloso atbp this year. I can't thank them enough, every session is both educational and memorable. ^_^

What makes a good photographer in your opinion?
- A good Photographer is someone who can still mix things up even with limited resources.

Do You Have A Favorite Walk Around Lens...If So What Is It?
- I only have 2 lenses, kit (18-55mm) and prime lens (50mm 1.8f) and I always bring both of them with me, they're both my favorite.

Which one item of equipment would you say is the most important to you?
- To be honest, nagtatalo kung batteries o memory card, they are both important but I think battery and fully charge extra batteries would be the most important aside from the camera itself and the memory card because it is easier to buy an sd card than to find fully charge batteries in case of emergency.

What is the most rewarding part of photography?
- The most rewarding part is when someone appreciates your work especially when you see them using it in their projects or just simply using it as their primary photo in social medias with credits..  Although kailangan din natin talagang kumita, that feeling is everything.  ^_^

What is your most embarrassing experience as a photographer?
- It was when 1 chubby model in a funshootreuests to make her slimmer in the picture and I'm not improved yet at getting thin angles back then so it took a long time before I was able to achieve it and I only got few good shots. It was very challenging and frustrating at the same time for both of us but a great learning experience of skill and patience.

How photography change your life?
- I learned to mingle with people and especially it gave me an ambition and something to shoot for.

What tips can you give to someone aspiring to be a professional photographer?
- Enjoy what you love to do. Don't kill the desire of taking good photographs either professionally or a hobby. Stay humble always, "Huwag natin kalimutan kung saan nagsimula." as per Chito Miranda. ^_^

What are the best tools for a beginner to learn on (besides the camera)?
- Life will be easier if you are also doing your own research to everything about photography especially in our time, the resources are very accessible, pwede na tayo makakalap ng mga impormasyon at one click in the internet and being proactive, we can join free fun shoots or organize our own.

What is your favourite recent image you have shot recently?
My shot with Joaida, the one that is included with the attachments I think is my best shot so far and is my favorite.

Joiada Pena at Kasa Boix Quiapo
Can you describe it’s creation in regards to location, lighting, composition, camera settings etc, also your thoughts when creating the image andwhat it means to you?
It was taken at Kasa Boix, an ancestral house in Quiapo, Manila. The location was great and has many great spots to take photos with. It was a bit dark so I used an off camera flash, I think it was set at 1/64 of a sec while my camera was at f5.6, 1/200 per sec shutter speed with 800 ISO.I let my subject lean on the wall near the window withher back and right foot while using her sweater as a prop and looking at the opposite shoulder. Since the location was dilapidated and looks abandoned, the first thing thatcomes to mind was a dark theme so I came up with the composition. During the shoot, I was thinking of a song lyrics "without the dark, the light won't show.."by a not so popular band.I don't memorize the whole lyrics but just that line itself is very meaningful which I always keep in mind.

(Special thanks to Sir Axl Guinto for accommodating us in the place and to my beautiful model Joaida)

What are the pros and cons of being a photographer? Please be specific.

Disclaimer: My answer is not necessarily based on my own experience but on my own research and observation.

Cons:
You are out of the jungle

-If you think life will be easier because you don't have a boss/client to attend to or a schedule to follow then you might not ready to go solo yet.It just not simply how it looks like, If you're not a part of a company anymore, you'll be forced to be more responsible to a lot of things, Kung sa kumpanya anjan ung mga teammates mo para mas mapagaan ang trabaho at mga regular clients that somehow gives you an have an assurance that you have someone to offer your services to, Well, not anymore dahil pagmagisa ka na langikaw nang bahala sa sarili mo from marketing to paying your own taxes  and from taking photos to editing.

Everyday is a blank (it can also be a pro)
- Since wala ka na nga sa kumpanya, everyday is unpredictable, maaaring sa isang araw na kaharap ka lang sa internet dahil walang pang client o potential.. Hihintayin mo lang matapos ang isang araw so somehow you should find a way to be productive and it might be the same the next day pero kung matiyaga ka talaga at mahabaang pasensiya, good things are not going anywhere, darating at darating din ang para sayo.

Expensive gears and competition
- Even the cheapest gadget you can get or second hands, it's price ranges are still no joke mas lalo na ngayon, napakabilis nang magupgrade ng bawat unit and whether we admit it or not most of us are tempted to buy. Even the smallest accessories have prices that you might not expect. It is reasonable for us to ask for a higher talent fee because of obvious reasons, di biro anglahat ng naipundar natin dito from hobby to profession pero sa dami na nga natin ngayon, we are forced to lower our rate para lang kumita lalo na ung naguumpisa pa langtuladko.

Pros:

Freedom and creativity
- You have all the time in the world to concentrate on your craft, you, your own boss. Although you still have deadlines to meet, but you have plenty of time to finishand it's not that hectic. When you're in the office, you are assigned in a certain project. Though you have better ideas, it won't be accepted beacuse of a guidelines to follow but now that you'reon your own, even the your new clients give concepts they want, you can still make your own style that will separate you from other Photographers or artist.

Everyday is a surprise
- Just like what I have mentioned earlier, every morning you wake up is a blank space you need to fill out but you'll never know what could appear on the horizon. Although it is not all about the money as we all know but once you harvest the fruit financially, it would be a great motivation just like any other day jobs and you'll feel the real kick out of this and the sense of satisfaction that your hard work paid off.

Independence

- Isa sa pinakamahalagang bagay namatutunan mo ay ang dumiskarte ng magisa.. Although you might be needing some handiworks of others, you'll still be the brainwork, the one who will think of the best strategy to sell and deliver.

I know you like traveling for shoot or even for chill-out, can tell mewhere is the best place to be to do some shoot? and why there?
- The best place for me would be in my hometown, Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Though hinditalagaakomasyadong gala pero dun ung parents ko, they're the ones who inspire me in everything.

Jian Marie Alastoy  and Harvin Reyes Hidalgo street going to San Sebastian Church
What goal are you working towards within your photography and when will you know you have reached it?
-  I have both personal and professional goal. My goal personally is just simply to be good at this in every aspect. Changes is inevitable as time goes by,  all I wan't is to adapt and evolve kumikita/kikita man ako dito o hindi. Professionally, I wan't my Click Click Handiworks to work and grow even little by little(I'm taking one step at a time and a lot of patience).

What photographic organizations do you belong to?
- Sa ngayon wala pa akong formal membership sa mga organizations pero sumasama ako sa mga funshoots. Most of the time, sa grupo nila Sir Kaiser, minsan solo flight. ^_^

Name a photographer you would like to take a portrait of?
- My idol Nico Mojica at Nico Camcrunch is the one I would like to take portrait of and with.

If you weren't a photographer or a multimedia artist, what would youwant to be? Why?
- If I am not a Graphic Artist/Photographer, I wan't to be a part of a professional band as a lead guitarist(In fact, I was but not on a pro level..).

How do you see yourself 20 or 30 yrs from now?
- 20 years from now, I see myself looking back to this interview saying "Way to go kid, things won't be easy but it's gonna be worth it."

Harvin Reyes Hidalgo street going to San Sebastian Church

What legacy you will leave on?
- I just want to be an inspiration that you don't need to compete just to be the best because you don't have to be as long as you have something special to lookforward to everyday.

Any final message? Its your time to shine.
- It is an honor to have this interview, thank you for choosing me as one of your subject, sa totoo lang nagulat ako dahil di pa akomagaling at bata pa akosa industry at mas marami pang ibang emerging photographers jan pero isa pa din ako sana pili ng imbitahan. I promise to continue to improve everyday. ^_^
