Valerie Tan Returns to I Heart PH: A Heartfelt Comeback to the Beloved Travel Show

Valerie, a well-loved host, is making her return to her original network, GTV, through the popular TV show I Heart PH. Having started her TV career with GTV's predecessor, QTV, on the show May Trabaho Ka, Valerie expresses excitement about coming back home. "I'm very happy to be back, and hopefully, I'll get to work with my former colleagues soon," she said.

Valerie’s journey in television has been long and remarkable. After spending several years with GMA, she shifted to another network and is now thrilled to return with I Heart PH as it celebrates its 9th season. Reflecting on the show's longevity, she admits that having a program last this long is a tremendous blessing, especially in today’s fast-paced media environment, where content can become irrelevant after just a few days. "We can be proud because we're putting out good quality content—entertaining, informative, and hopefully timeless," she said.

Valerie's Hosting Journey

Valerie has been hosting for over 17 years, covering TV shows and corporate events. A Filipino-Chinese with conversational skills in Mandarin and Fookien, she has hosted events in different languages. "What I love most about I Heart PH is connecting with people, even more than exploring new places," she shared, emphasizing that building connections is the most rewarding aspect of her career.

As a seasoned host, Valerie reveals that her passion for hosting began at a young age. "Hosting has been my dream since I was five. I used to join declamation contests in school and win every year. That drive and perseverance helped me pursue my passion, leading me to where I am today," she added. Despite the challenges, she attributes her continued success to grit, hard work, and nurturing good relationships with her colleagues.

When asked about her role models in hosting, Valerie mentions admired hosts like Rovilson Fernandez, for his witty and smart ad-libs, and Pinky Webb, known for her professionalism. She hopes to continue making a name for herself in the industry, believing that her unique talents will eventually shine through.

Now entering its 9th season, I Heart PH remains a staple in Philippine television, offering entertaining and informative content. Valerie takes pride in the show's achievements, particularly in a media landscape where longevity is rare.
