Volunteering with Loaves X Fish Foundation: Rescuing Food for Communities in Need

I'm happy I got to volunteer with the Loaves X Fish Foundation, Inc. We were all super busy preparing meals to distribute, thanks to the Allianz PNB Life X Scholars Of Sustenance Philippines - SOS Philippines Food Rescue program. The cool thing about this program is that it rescues unconsumed food from restaurants, cafes, and similar places. We all know how expensive food can be, especially at restaurants where there's always so much left over. Instead of wasting it, they donate it to this program, which is a huge help!

The rescued food, which includes everything from meats to vegetables, gets donated to partner communities who really need it. It's such a smart way to make use of food that would otherwise go to waste.

This whole experience reminded me of our Blogging Meet Up (BMU) days. We had similar activities, like your blog, engaging in community service projects such as Operation Burger, where we also provided food to the less fortunate. I really miss those times. Yes, it can be exhausting because you're helping out all day, but it's definitely worth it when you see the smiles on the kids' faces and the gratitude from those you help.

We distributed the meals at Our Lady of the Poor Parish in Western Bicutan, Taguig City. It was a day well spent, making a tangible difference in the lives of others.
