Experience the Kroketten Potato Dutch Snacks with a Pinoy Twist
Last June 23, I was invited in the KROKETTEN Bloggers event at Mall of Asia.
Its for the opening of the new branch of Kroketten.
What is Kroketten? Is made of breaded mashed potato balls with meat, chicken or cheese filling.
How Kroketten started? Kroketten is the brainchild of Maribel Bosch,as an entrepreneur, married to a Dutch Chemist, Dr. Bob Bosch. This business was inspired by a popular Dutch snack (croquette), she first tasted in 2000 while in the Netherlands with her two wonderful kids. She has learned to love the food and constant visit back to the Philippines meant bringing home boxes of Kroketten as "pasalubong" and experimenting with cooking them herself till she got the right mix.
Finally, in 2010, when she met a chef-friend from her days in the Philippines hotel industry, they were able to come up with their best Kroketten concoction with a Filipino twist.
From this secret formula, a new business was born.
The first Kroketten outlet was launch in Festival Alabang.
They came up with miniballs as well in assorted flavors. You get to choose from mango, cheese, chicken, beef, bacon, hotdog, longganisa, pork adobo, and tuyo flakes to suit your cravings for the day and choose from any of the tasty dip options like cheese dip or honey-mustard dip.
